Closing Ceremony Summer Holidays Camp

Volcanic Warrior Sports and Recreational Academy: Nurturing Abilities, Building skills and Bringing Out Talents

Volcanic Warriors Sports and Recreational Academy held its graduation and closing ceremony for the 2024 Summer Holidays Camp on Friday the 23rd of August 2024 at Government nursery School Buea town, showcasing the remarkable talents and achievements of its young participants.
The event was a testament to the program’s commitment to fostering well-rounded development through a diverse range of activities.
The day began with the children demonstrating their abilities and skills in the art of karate, known as Katar. This display of discipline and know how set the tone for the exciting events that followed.
Mr. Eric Shiwoh, the Technical Director, warmly welcomed the parents and delivered a speech highlighting the various aspects of the program. He elaborated on the range of abilities and skills the children had acquired, including drumming, dancing, singing, and playing the piano. The children’s dedication and hard work were celebrated through the distribution of certificates, recognizing their achievements.
One of the highlights of the event was the brief explanation of the program’s visit to Pascal Siakam’s Skill Academy camp in Douala for over three (3) years among adherents and Coaches of the program. Although they couldn’t accommodate all the children due to concerns about security, the six participants who attended were awarded basketball attires, giving them the appearance of professional basketball players.
The event took a spiritual turn as the program had the commemoration of the Holy Mass, cellebrated by Rev Fr. Martin Njie of the St Anthony of Padua Parish Buea Town. The mass was offered by the organisers thanksgiving to the Almighty for protecting the children throughout the intensive three-months training program and guidance of all the children and staff as they start the new school year.
As the event went on to its end, all the children were given school materials including a bag containing books, pens, pencils and ruler crowned with a certificate as a symbol of their participation and accomplishments.
Special certificates were awarded to those who had the opportunity to attend Pascal Siakam’s skill Academy camp.
Ndaleh Vera, a parent who attended the graduation ceremony, expressed her appreciation and satisfactions for the program, stating, “They learn how to interact with their friends, they learn how to use their creativity to create things…I call on all parents around Buea instead of sending your children to places where they will just sit and come back the same, why not send them to an environment where they would move from the raging system of formal education and move to a system of education where they are at the center.”
One of the participants, Angel Kamsi, shared her experience, stating, “Throughout our stay here, we learned how to play the drum, Jazz band, basketball, matching band, and many others. At times, we would go to the computer lab to learn computers, and at the end of the program, they would take us for a field trip. I say thank you to the Coach and everyone for everything they have done for us.”
Mrs Annah Ngowo Ifose Mbella, the Managing Director of the program, provided a comprehensive overview of the activities and the program’s significance. She also highlighted the diverse range of sports and cultural activities, including basketball, volleyball, and traditional drumming. Mrs Ifose Mbella expressed how happy she is on what the children have achieved so far and appreciated the parents for their trust and support in the program.

The founder and proprietor of the Volcanic Warriors Sports and Recreational Academy (Abilities, Skills, Talent – human development platform) Coach IFOSE Emile MBELLA was unavailable absent due to his mission with the Cameroon National U18 basketball teams to the continental challenge in South Africa
